Ivan is a Chartered Engineer with over 30 years’ experience in Engineering and Technical Leadership roles across some of UK’s leaders in technical excellence including, animal-inspired robotics scale-up Animal Dynamics, MBDA Missile Systems, the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory and the Atomic Weapons Establishment. He is currently Head of Digital Delivery for East West Rail, a nationally significant railway project which aims to deliver much-needed transport connections for communities between Oxford and Cambridge. Ivan is a Past President of the Institute for Systems Engineering, Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, and a former member of the Engineering Council Quality Assurance Committee. Ivan is a member of several university Systems Engineering Advisory Boards and an Industry Advisor to the Open University for Engineering & Innovation. Ivan is a Freeman of the City of London and Liveryman in the Worshipful Company of Engineers. A digital approach to infrastructure delivery is not an option but must be embraced. As the EWR programme enters its delivery phase we require fresh thinking and to challenge industry inefficiencies. Adopting digital technologies and ways of working to target specific lifecycle challenges to address avoidable schedule and costs overruns.
